So this week I've been working in the primary school I worked in last year as part of my PGCE!
I've had to get experience in a primary setting to see the teaching children are given before coming up to secondary, their knowledge of my subject and the transition between primary and secondary.
So for some people this might seem really boring or whatever - but I love my time in the primary school!
Last year I worked in reception and now I'm currently in a year 6 class ... Seeing the way children develop is incredible and the difference between starting primary school and coming to the end of it!
Working with children is just amazing! They make you smile with their innocence, comments, honesty and even when they're trying it on!
It is a hard job working as a teacher and that is clear from being in schools - teachers have a lot of things to do, so much paperwork, extra curricular activities, so many boxes to tick etc. They have to take work home and work all hours under the sun (Yes they even work during all the holidays they get off so no they don't have it easy! Although the summer holiday is pretty nice minus peak prices for everything!).
BUT it is one of the most rewarding jobs - helping these kids prepare for the real world, seeing them progress and grow, being there through their problems and issues, being someone they can trust and turn to and just teaching them about things you yourself believe in and enjoy is just incredible!
So my time so far in my primary placement has just made me smile - I am extremely tired especially with coming home and trying to write an assignment but it's worth it!
Children just bring so much happiness to the world in so many ways :)
So I just wanted to share my passion for working with children with you all - this week has just made me appreciate having the opportunity to follow such an amazing career but feel sad that I will be leaving the primary setting as it is amazing!
Happy happy happy :)
