How is everyone today? It's the start of the weekend!!!! Hope you are all as excited as me :)
I am supposed to be Skydiving this weekend so fingers crossed please - need good weather to be able to achieve this dream!
So let's get to the point of this post ... As you all know, I haven't been blogging very long (2 weeks now) and I am really loving getting to write so much and expressing all my feelings and opinions and sharing all my experiences and dreams (whether or not people are actually enjoying reading them is another matter - but I hope you all are). However, I know one lovely person that has enjoyed reading my blog and she is so wonderful she has awarded me with the 'Liebster Award'. Thank you very much Chloe - blogger at Lashes of Lifestyle.
This award is given by bloggers to other bloggers. It is an internet based award and allows bloggers to promote other people's blogs that they enjoy, answer a few fun and random questions about themselves which gives their readers a bit more knowledge about them and ask a few questions to other bloggers.
It's a really lovely award to be given and is a great way of getting people's blogs out there and giving readers more knowledge about the person blogging.
So here are the Liebster Award rules:
- Link back to the person who nominated you
- Answer all the questions that you are given
- Choose 5 bloggers to nominate
- Pick 11 questions for them to answer and let them know
So here are the Questions Chloe has asked me and my attempt to answer each one to the best of my ability:
What is the most daring thing you’ve ever done?
Now I see daring as two different ideas - 1. Things that you can do that are exciting, adventurous and give you an adrenaline rush. 2. Things that you shouldn't really be doing.
So I am going to answer this question with answers for each of my two definitions of daring.
Number 1:
Participating in a Bungee Jump is probably one of the most daring things I have ever done ... Luckily I got to do a Lovers Leap jump which meant jumping with Ed so I felt a lot braver and safer ... But this definitely was one of the things I have been most scared of and got a massive adrenaline rush from. Very close behind is Climbing Mount Kilimanjaro, but that is more of a challenge than something daring.
Number 2:
Skinny Dipping in the hotel pool on Holiday ... Yes it was late at night and very dark but it sure is daring when you have to climb out of the pool completely naked and a couple are just chilling on the sunbed looking right at you - We didn't even have towels so we had to run all the way back to the room with nothing on.
What’s your best Life hack?
Okay, now I wouldn't say for certain that this is my best life hack, but I can't really think of any others for certain - so feel free to comment with good life hacks.
Using a piece of uncooked spaghetti to light a candle with a wick that's too short. I love a good candle and it is always so frustrating when you attempt to light it but keep burning yourself ... so this solves that issue and takes away the only real stress from something so relaxing (Nothing beats a beautiful scented candle when you need to unwind - well maybe a bubble bath surrounded by candles).
Where in the world do you most want to visit?
There are so many amazing, wonderful, beautiful places in this world that I would love to visit, and as you know from my list of dreams I really want to travel to lots of places and see and experience the world. However, if there was one specific place in the world I would most like to visit it would have to be the USA - I have always wanted to travel America and see all of the sights it has to offer (Niagara Falls, Grand Canyon, Whitehouse, Hollywood etc.) and to experience all of the different American dreams (swimming with Dolphins, a night in Las Vegas, go to Disneyland Florida etc.).
What’s your most embarrassing moment to date?
This one is also quite difficult as it is only recently that I have become confident enough and felt secure enough in myself to laugh at my own expense, thus meaning I have always avoided embarrassing possibilities to the best of my ability. So I think my answers are quite weak but would be a choice of - Farting in front of work colleagues I didn't really know, burping very loudly in the middle of a restaurant on Holiday or wetting myself when I was 9/10 years old and I was trying to cross the road to get to the pub where there was a toilet, was so desperate I didn't look so just went to run into the road, an old woman grabbed me and pulled me back and a mixture of the scare and desperation to wee took hold and I wet myself in front of loads of people (But then I was only young so looking back now it's not that embarrassing but it felt it at the time).
If you were to be a sweet, what would you be and why?
Mmmmmmmm sweets!! :) Now I am really tempted to just pick a sweet that I really like but instead I am really going to put some thought into this ... So I've come up with a 'Rowntree's Fruit Gum' - Hard to begin with but if you take the time and make the effort it softens and becomes really sweet and lovely - I'm someone that can be quite shy and have my shield up for a while, but if you take the time to get to know me then I am quite a caring and fun person.
If everyone had one night to live, what meal would you pick for your last meal?
Ooooooo now I am definitely torn between a few meals as I LOVE food!!! :) But the top 3 choices would have to be:
1. Steak with chips/mash potato and mushrooms, onion rings and salad
2. Roast Dinner - Either Beef or Chicken, with yorkshire puddings and lots of veg (Lettuce, Sprouts and Cauliflower would be my top 3 choices) and yummy yummy roast potatoes.
3. Kleftiko - This is a greek dish with Lamb, potatoes and veg but is soooo good.
So I think if I was actually in this situation then it would probably depend on my mood ... but right now if I had to choose it would be a Steak (Medium-Well Done - and if it was the end of the world then let's splash out and go for a Fillet Steak).
What is your biggest achievement?
My biggest achievement at the minute would probably be to have achieved a 2:1 in my Psychology Degree and to have been accepted onto a Teaching Course. I know for some people achieving a degree might just be part of life, but for me I have always had to work hard to get to where I wanted and have always strived to do well in Education and to finally be achieving these things after all my hard work, that is a big deal to me.
If you could meet anyone in the World, who would you most like to meet?
I must admit I am not really big on celebrities etc. and I don't really have any idols or anything! So right now the only name that springs to mind is Ed Sheeran - I love his music, I think he is a real inspiration and so down to earth and he hasn't had an easy life and has worked hard to get to where he is now so for that I really respect him and would quite like to meet him to see if he is as normal and down to earth as he comes across and I think he would be good fun to hang out with.
Which do you prefer: Summer or Winter?
This question is a tough one as they are completely different and I love both of these seasons for very different reasons .... Summer is amazing because you can spend so much time outside, people always seem happier when the sun is out, you usually go on Holiday's in the Summer and do lots more day trips and fun things, the days feel longer and also because training to be a Teacher I get the Summer Holiday's which means lots of time chilling with Ed and friends and even more fun activities and adventures ... Oh and you can go camping in the Summer more and I LOVE camping.
However, Winter is brilliant as it means CHRISTMAS!!!! And Christmas is by far the most amazing Holiday of them all ... It's a time of year that brings everyone together and makes you feel special and like a child, and there is always so much to do with Christmas Markets and Pantomimes etc.
Also Winter means wrapping up in nice warm clothes, going for walks in the snow and frost, lots of hot chocolate with whipped cream and marshmallows, cuddling up in front of the fire and nights in with a nice hot curry/pizza and films.
So to choose between these two is probably one of the hardest choices I have ever had to make (Crazy I know).
But obviously I have to choose, so because you can still do lots of fun and exciting activities and adventures in the Winter months (it's just a little colder) and because I love Christmas sooooo much I will have to choose Winter ... But I do love the Summer nearly as much.
If you could learn one new talent instantly, what would it be?
I have often wished I could learn this talent instantly and have even pretended I could once - Playing the Guitar! I love singing and really wish I could play the Guitar to go with it and make sweet, sweet music :)
When I was younger I actually had lessons but being young I had no perseverance and there was always something more interesting to do so I gave it up and now I would love to be able to play but cannot afford the lessons and it takes so much time to teach yourself ... So I have actually once put a song on I had attempted to learn and strummed along with the music pretending I could play. So if there was one new talent I could learn instantly, then I would love it to be this.
What’s the one beauty item you couldn’t live without?
I don't really use beauty products. The only make up I use is eyeliner and mascara and they are genuinely the cheapest products I could find in Superdrug so I have stuck to using those. Other than that I have started trying to exfoliate and moisturise and have bought some 'Good Things' scrub which smells pretty and is quite nice but I still only do this once a week and I'm sure you are meant to do it every day (Ooops). So this questions is actually really tricky as I could quite happily live without make up (although I do love my eyeliner and mascara) and most beauty products, so I am a little unsure if these count but I would say either a razor or my tweezers - so something that removes unwanted hair from your body - as I really hate having hair in places I definitely don't want it to be.
So those are my answers to those interesting but difficult questions, although I must admit it was enjoyable to answer them :)
I now nominate:
